The gdk-pixbuf SRPM is only required when it is not already installed on your system.
Please check this first:
rpm -q gdk-pixbufIf this command above prints "package gdk-pixbuf is not installed", then you may need to get the SRPM here to compile and install it. This is only the case for really old distributions like RedHat 6.2 and before.
Note for SuSE-Users:
Because SuSE installs gdk-pixbuf by default to /opt/gnome you have to
set your $PATH to include /opt/gnome/bin. The rebuild will fail otherwise.
export PATH=$PATH:/opt/gnome/binYou also might need to set the --nodeps option when rebuilding these RPMs, because they were not designed for SuSE, but for redhat-style distributions.
When you try to compile the source RPM on a suse machine you might get
an error because SuSE calls the "gtk+-devel" package just "gtk-devel".
You might want to edit the SPEC file to change that.
I will not accept RPMs for new distributions without having seen the SPEC file for it!
